In January of 2021, I did a month long experiment where I did Reiki every day before or after my workouts, and at night before bed. I noticed Improved recovery, sleep, and reduced muscle soreness after hard cycling and plyometric workouts. This episode details my experience.
One month before, I had gotten my first Reiki attunement and I need practice everyday to learn how to use it, and I love applying healing techniques to performance enhancement
What is Reiki? From the Cleveland Clinic “Reiki is hands-on natural healing using the universal life force energy. the term comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki, an abundant, gentle spiritual energy is not tied to any specific religion or nationality.”
There have only been a few studies on sports performance and Reiki – mostly focusing on healing from injury and stress management.
I’d really like to see an 8 week study in well trained endurance athletes or weight lifters so we can see have some statistically significant results
