Welcome to the first solo episode of the Art of Adventure podcast! In Episode 33, I am my own guest and I simply tell some stories about entrepreneurship and business secrets that I have observed from my travels in Southeast Asia over the last year. I have written previously about some of these observations here. I am inspired by the history of Starbucks coffee, which created in America, the “third place” that wasn’t work or home, and was inspired by the French cafes visited by Starbuck founder, Howard Schultz, during his travels abroad. I know there are great business ideas waiting to be ported across cultures (Red Bull is another great example), so on my travel I try to keep an eye out for the next million or billion dollar idea. This episode isn’t as much about a single idea as about several great business principles I have observed on the road in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, and Indonesia. Enjoy!
