If you feel yourself backsliding from where you want to be, you can start by asking yourself “How do I want to feel?” – Brandi Roberts

Brandi was a top fitness competitor in her 20’s, where she competed on physique, poise, and gymnastic skill. After exchanging the role of competitor with the role of doting mother, she realized one day that she had completely lost her sense of self and of motivation to do the things she loved.

Since that time, she has turned her life around, written four books in the last year, including The Backsliders Guide to Weight Loss, and has re-discovered just how powerful she is.

    Derek,
Thank you so much for having me on your podcast.
I so appreciate what you are doing with The Art of Adventure!

  2. Pieter

Hey Derek, would you say it is a good idea to combine your home office with your gym?

    • derek

Hi Pieter, I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but I have definitely used my studio as a workout space. However, I don’t think you can beat getting outside and moving in the sunshine!

  3. Pieter

Okay, thanks man, yeah I was talking about if your time is a bit limited and so on. I don’t really have the time to go outside for an hour at the moment. I try to get five minutes out of every hour to work out while I’m doing office work.

Have you considered a standing desk or a treadmill desk?

      • Pieter

Yeah maybe I should, I didn’t even know that existed actually! Lol, just Googled it and yes there it was, a treadmill desk. Or maybe I should just do some heavy type cardio five minutes out of the hour.
