Where are we going?

The Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas. Some of the oldest mountains in the world, home to home to national scenic riverways, caves, lakes, forests and at this time of year, beautiful fall colors. For part of the trip we will be based in Branson, MO a travel destination on the shores of Lake of the Ozarks

What are we doing?

Real, natural cave exploration is one of the rarest experiences you can have, and I was draw to a love of caves as a boy reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, and as  Biologist studying extremophiles. We are doing this first to build our team and bring us closer as a unit.

Canoeing and Camping

Traveling on water in a canoe under you own power is one of the most calming and immersive experiences. I spend many a weekend on float trips growing up, and we will change our entire way of being by spending time on the river and in front of the campfire with friends.

Personal and Business Development

We will take a look at some of the key areas to success in life: decision making, world view, confidence, relationships, and fulfillment. We will look at specific strategies for how we can get what we want in life and business.

Rock Climbing and Rappelling

If caving didn’t get you out of your comfort zone, rock climbing sure will. A test of mental toughness and physical skill you will

Derek Loudermilk

In case you don’t know me, I’m the founder of the Art of Adventure.  I grew up in Missouri and I have been traveling the world full time for the last four years going on adventures and helping people start businesses that they can run from anywhere in the world. I have a huge love of the Ozarks, Caving, Camping (I am an Eagle Scout), and Canoeing.  I can’t wait to share one of my favorite places in the world with you.

We’re taking care of you, every step of the way.

 All Accommodations

We have found a great partner to host our retreat and return after our days of caving and climbing, and we will provide all the camping gear you need to enjoy your time on the river. Like Huck Finn, only less rough.

Most Meals

Most meals are carefully planned and included, however there are a few meals where we’ll get to explore various local breweries and restaurants together. We think you’ll appreciate the chance.

 All Transportation

Private transportation from start to finish so you can concentrate on living in the present moment and connecting with others, instead of worrying about logistics in new frontiers.

 Fun Activities

To be sure the days are unforgettable, we partner with experienced, on-the-ground operators to deliver the most fun (and safe) daytime adventure activities.
